The whole world has been devastated by the novel coronavirus. Death and infections from the deadly virus are rising alarmingly. A total of 478,053 people have been infected with coronavirus and the virus claimed 6,470 lives in the last 24 hours across the world.

According to worldometer, so far, 1,143,357 people have died from the deadly virus infection out of 42,028,805 coronavirus cases across the world. Of them, 31,206,954 have recovered.

The United States, the worst-hit country in the world, has registered 973 deaths and 74,301 new cases in the last 24 hours. The country is still at the top in coronavirus deaths and infections. A total of 228,381 people died in the country due to the pandemic and 8,661,722 have been infected so far.
India has registered the second-highest death toll of 683 during the time and the death toll due to COVID-19 climbed to 117,336. The country reported 54,482 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to 7,761,312 while 6,948,497 people have recuperated so far. India has the second-highest number of active cases and ranks third in the COVID-19 death toll.

Brazil has registered 503 new deaths of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. With this, the tally of fatalities from the pandemic has risen to 155,962 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 5,332,634 as 31,985 new cases were confirmed during the period.

The coronavirus was first detected in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China in December 2019. The virus, which has spread from China, has so far infected 215 countries and territories around the world.
