5,404 die in a day, 222,000 new infected globally

The whole world has been devastated by the novel coronavirus. Death and infections from the deadly virus are rising alarmingly. For the first time, after the pandemic began more than 222,000 people have been infected with coronavirus and the virus claimed 5,404 lives in the last 24 hours across the world.
According to worldometer, so far, 557,405 people have died from the deadly virus infection out of 12,387,828 coronavirus cases across the world. Of them, 7,187,447 have recovered.
Brazil witnesses 1,199 deaths, the highest number in the last 24 hours. The death toll rose to 69,254. Besides, the number of coronavirus cases in the country rose to 1,759,103 with new 42,000 cases reported in the last 24 hours.
The death toll in the United States is still close to a thousand mark. More than 61,000 patients have been identified in the country in 24 hours. The United States is the most affected nation by the deadly coronavirus having 3,219,999 people infected with the virus. Of these, 135,822 have died in the country.
A total of 782 people have died in Mexico on the last day. In all, 33,526 have died of the virus in the country. In total, 282,283 are infected. Around 200 people died in Iran in one day. Colombia, Peru, Russia, South Africa, Chile, and Iraq have seen nearly 200 deaths.
The coronavirus was first detected in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China in December 2019. The virus, which has spread from China, has so far infected 215 countries and territories around the world.
