Mohammad Habib Hasan, Awami League candidate for the by-election of Dhaka-18 constituency, said a conducive environment is prevailing in the election. Extensive voter turnout has been observed in every polling station since morning.
“Our polling agents are on duty in every booth. For the past few days, our leaders have been asking the general people to vote for the Boat symbol. I am grateful to everyone,” he said while speaking to reporters after casting his vote at IES School, Sector-5, Uttara on Thursday morning.
“I hope I win the election by a huge margin,” he said, adding that the voter turnout will increase as the day progresses.
Meanwhile, regarding the allegations of BNP candidate SM Jahangir, the Awami League candidate said, “As far as I know, no untoward incident has taken place anywhere in Dhaka-18 constituency in the election.”
They often complain. These are lies and fabrications, he also said.
He added that Bangladesh is now moving forward at a breakneck pace of development under the leadership of Deshratna Sheikh Hasina.
