The commuters’ movement in the capital was fewer on Thursday afternoon than the other days and since the evening, the streets of the Dhaka turned to empty or desolate. It seems like – “a ghost town”.

Such an image was seen at Kachukhet in Cantonment, Mirpur-14, 12, 10, 6,2 and Mirpur-1, Pallabi, Kafrul, Shah Ali, Gabtoli, etc.  The strong patrols of armed forces and police were seen on the roads.

There are police checkpoints. Position of law enforcers at every intersection. Those who out in the street are being questioned. The vehicles of the mobile court are also seen patrolling with banners.

“The announcement of Wednesday ‘armed forces will be in a strict position since Thursday’ is working,” said Akash, a resident of Mirpur. “Today, no one is out without an urgent need. Due to this, loitering and chatting of youths have been stopped.”

“Such strict measures should be taken during this epidemic in the country,” he added.
