Chinese national stabbed to death in their own conflict in Sylhet

A Chinese national has been stabbed to death in their own conflict in Sylhet. The incident took place at a house in Pathantula residential area in Sylhet city on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Wentao, a Chinese national working at Kumargaon Power Substation in Sylhet.
It is learned that 12 Chinese nationals, including Wentao, used to live in a rented house no. 11/9 in B block at Pathantula area. They are all working at Kumargaon power substation.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SPM) Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) BM Ashraf Ullah Taher said 12 Chinese nationals lived in a rented house in the Pathantula area. Wentao Wei was killed on the spot when he stabbed another Chinese man during an altercation on Tuesday morning. Upon receiving the news, the police visited the spot. Legal action is being taken including the arrest of those involved in the murder.
Kotwali Police Station OC SM Abu Farhad of SMP said the Chinese national was stabbed to death in a “scuffle over who should wash his hands first after breakfast”. Chao, who stabbed him, is also in hospital. The body of the deceased has been sent to the hospital morgue.
