China’s State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka, Bangladesh today on a one-day visit.
He will have a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid and a meeting with Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs sources confirmed the matter and said that General Wei Fenghe’s Dhaka visit is significant in this phase of changing geopolitics, strengthening defense cooperation and vaccination diplomacy. As a result, these issues will be of special importance during his visit.
Bangladesh is in contact with China to control the second wave of coronavirus. This is very significant as a high-level visit from China after the talks began.
China’s Defense Minister was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, on a one-day visit at the end of November last year. It was postponed on the eve of the tour.
It is to be mentioned that two weeks before the arrival of the Chinese Defense Minister in Dhaka, India’s Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane visited Bangladesh.
