Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen today said the coronavirus vaccine manufactured by China will arrive in the country before May 12.
He told the media on Wednesday.
“China’s government has started delivering vaccines before Eid-ul-Fitr,” Foreign Minister said, mentioning that Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Li Jiming recently informed that “the vaccine will start arriving in Dhaka before Eid.”
It is to be mentioned that the Bangladesh government on April 29 approved the emergency use of the coronavirus vaccine manufactured by the Chinese company Sinopharm.
About the humanitarian aid sent to neighboring India, the Foreign Minister said, “We have asked all the states in India to seek permission from the central government. We will cooperate if we get permission.”
AK Abdul Momen said other emergency medicines and medical equipment would be sent in phases and Dhaka was keen to provide more assistance to Delhi if needed. Dhaka is also working on the demand letter given by India, he added.
