In China, a newborn may be infected with a new coronavirus. It is feared to be transmitted around the world. Reuters reported on Tuesday that the World Health Organization (WHO) cautioned information.

One major cause of the virus is coronavirus, which can cause infections from common cold to SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). A Chinese woman infected with the virus has been separated after being identified in Thailand.

Thai authorities say it is the first such virus to be detected outside China. Around 41 cases of pneumonia have been reported in the Chinese city Wuhan. The results of these preliminary lab tests indicate that they may be from a new type of coronavirus.

Up until now, one person has been reported dead, Wuhan health officials said.

Meanwhile, Maria Van Kerkhove, acting head of the World Health Organization’s New Disease Unit, said, “From the information that we have it is possible that there is limited human-to-human transmission, potentially among families, but it is very clear right now that we have no sustained human-to-human transmission.”

There is no specific treatment for the virus so far. In the meantime, the UN agency has directed hospitals around the world to prevent infections and control in case the new virus spreads.
