Child crushed by auto-rickshaw in Sherpur

A six-year-old boy named Minhaj was killed on the spot when he was hit by a battery-powered auto-rickshaw on Nayabil Bazar Highway at Nalitabari in Sherpur around 6.30 pm on Tuesday.
According to local sources, Minhaj, son of Idris Ali of Phulpur village under Ramchandrakura UP, was crossing the Nalitabari-Nakugaon highway at Nayabil Bazar around 6.30 pm. At that time, an auto-rickshaw crushed Minhaj. After rescuing him from the spot and he was taken to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared him dead.
Meanwhile, the driver managed to escape but the auto-rickshaw was seized by the local people.
Nalitabari Police Station OC Bashir Ahmed Badal confirmed the information.
