`Chhutir Ghonta` director hospitalized

'Chhutir Ghonta' director Azizur Rahman has been admitted to a hospital in Toronto, Canada after falling seriously ill.

Director's daughter Alia Rahman Bindi confirmed the news.

Bindi told media that Azizur Rahman was admitted to the hospital on February 16 with lung problem.

Azizur Rahman was born on 10 October 1939 at Kalsa Satamhara mahalla of Santahar railway junction town. His father's name is Rupchan Pramanik. He passed SSC from the local Ahsanullah Institute and HSC from Dhaka City Night College. He later earned a diploma in commercial art from the Institute of Fine Arts.

Azizur Rahman started his career as an assistant to legendary film director Ehtesham. In his career, he gained fame by directing films like Oshikkhito (1978), Matir Ghar (1969), Chhutir Ghonta (1980).
