A young man from Chhatak Upazila of Sunamganj has been missing for a month who was going to Turkey from Iran with the help of brokers. The missing youth identified as Abu Zafar Noman, son of Badrul Alam of Radhanagar village of Noman Upazila.

The Bangladeshi broker Saeed, who helped Zafar to go to Turkey from Iran also remain absconding. Saeed is from Saidabad village of 11-No. Gazanipur UP, in Nabiganj Upazila of Habiganj.

Meanwhile, Noman's family has been passing times with anxiety since the incident. Noman's mother becomes speechless as they are unable to contact the only son.

Noman's sister Jannat Akhter Sumi told Daily Bangladesh that Noman travelled to Iran last February. From there, 6 Bangladeshis, including Noman, left for Turkey on March 1. About 16 hours walk on the ice, they reached the border of Turkey at 7 am (BST) on March 1 and inform us over the phone and cut the phone call saying network problems. Then we did not receive any phone call from him. The five others said they entered into the Turkey border and reached Istambul but Noman was not with them at this time.

Noman's fellow travellers said they had entered the Turkish border with six. Noman falls behind for drinking water at one stage, Sumi added.

Sumi also said that when they contacted Saeed, the Bangladeshi broker in Iran, at the beginning he received calls but later we found his phone switched off. Before disappearance, his brother Noman said the broker, who is helping him to go to Turkey is from Nabiganj Upazila of Habiganj.
