The nation is observing one-day national mourning on Monday in memory of the victims of the deadly Chawkbazar fire in the capital that claimed scores of lives.
On the occasion, all government, semi-government, autonomous and private institutions and establishments and Bangladesh missions abroad are hoisting national flag half-mast.
Earlier on Sunday, the Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard.
According to the notification, state mourning will be observed to seek eternal peace of the departed souls of those killed in the fire incident and convey sympathy to the bereaved family members.
On Wednesday night, 67 people were killed and around 41 others injured in a fire that broke out at a chemical warehouse and raged through four other adjacent buildings in Chawkbazar.
