Changes to be brought in `Digital Security Act`: Law Minister

Law Minister Anisul Huq said on Monday that there will some changes brought in the ‘Digital Security Act’ as demands have been made for its amendment.
He said we believe in democracy and we’ll do everything for the freedom of the media.
Law Minister Anisul Huq said these while talking to the reporters after a meeting with a faction of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) at the Secretariat.
He said the Act will be amended where it is necessary after discussion with the representatives of all organizations who have proposed for amending the act.
Anisul said I have told them that the parliamentary watchdog will take into cognizance the concerns being expressed by the Editors’ Council, ATCO (Association of Television Channel Owners) and BFUJ about the Act.
President of a faction of BFUJ Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul, said we have submitted a written opinion regarding the Act to the Minister today. In the written proposal we have ten observations and one specific proposal.
