Chacha- Bhatija (uncle-nephew), the candidates of the BNP and Awami League of Cumilla-4 constituency are facing head-on in the 11th parliamentary elections.

They are - uncle Cumilla North District BNP President Engineer Munjurul Ahsan Munsi and nephew Awami League nominee candidate Current MP Raji Mohammad Fakhrul.

Nephew wants to ensure the victory and uncle wants to reclaim the seat.

Raji Mohammad Fakhrul said, “With honesty, transparency, and skill, we tried to meet the expectations of the people for 5 years.”

“We have gained the confidence of grassroots leaders and workers. No one could do the development like the Awami League. The development work of about Tk 800 crore has been done in 5 years. People will vote in the boat again to keep the development flowing. I hope this time I will win the boat symbol Inshallah,” added nephew MP Raji Fakhrul.

Engineer Munjurul Ahsan said, “The Cumilla-4 seat is known as the BNP’s seat. I was MP four times in this seat. Like every time, I got the symbol of paddy sheath. But the election environment was not created yet. The arrest of activists, harassment including false cases are still going on. If there is a fair election, level playing field, and people can vote, then I will be able to retain the seat.”

After the scrutiny, Cumilla District Returning Officer and DC declared their nomination papers valid.
