The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised the seaports to hoist the cautionary signal no. 3 for fear of strong winds due to low pressure in the sea.
The information was given in the weather bulletin on Wednesday.
The weather forecast said a low pressure had formed in the central Bay of Bengal - which is currently located in the West-Central and the adjoining East-Central Bay of Bengal. It may become more intensified. As a result, strong winds may blow in the North Bay, seaports and coastal areas of Bangladesh.
Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to show local warning signal number 3.
All fishing boats and trawlers stationed in the North Bay and the deep sea have been asked to move with caution. They have also been told not to wander in the deep sea.
