Case lodged against 17 incl Hefazat’s Mamunul Haque

A case has been filed against 17 people, including Hefazat-e-Islam’s joint secretary general Mamunul Haque, in connection with the violence at Baitul Mukarram Mosque on March 26, the Golden Jubilee of Independence.
Khandaker Arif-uz-Zaman, deputy office secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Juba League, filed the case with Paltan Police Station on Monday night.
Paltan Police Station OC Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the matter.
It is learned that the plaintiff mentioned in the case details that he was beaten on March 26 while offering prayers at Baitul Mukarram Mosque. It was also mentioned that the other accused carried out the attack under the direct direction of Mamunul Haque.
The rest of the accused in the case are – Maulana Junaid Al Habib, Maulana Lokman Habib, Nasir Uddin Monir, Nayebe Amir Maulana Bahauddin Zakaria, Maulana Nurul Islam Zehadi, Brahmanbaria’s Nayebe Amir Majedur Rahman, Maulana Habibur Rahman, Maulana Khaled Saifullah Ayyubi, Maulana Jasim Uddin, Tongi’s Maulana MAsudul Karim, Mufti Monir Hossain Quashemi, Maulana Zakariya Noman Fayezi, Maulana Faisal Ahmed, Maulana Mushtaqunnabi, Maulana Hafez Md. Zobayer and Maulana Hafez Md. Tayyib.
All the accused are the central leaders, district leaders and activists of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh.
