A case has been filed over molesting a housewife uploading her undress video on Facebook after failing rape at Hatiya in Noakhali.

Some people captured the victim's undress video after failing to rape her before her children on January 1, 2021. The victim filed a rape case at Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-2 on January 5 following the incident.

The judge took cognizance of the plaintiff's allegations and directed the Additional Superintendent of Police of Hatia Circle to submit a probe report to the court within seven working days.

Hatia Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Golam Farooq said he went to the spot last Saturday after receiving a court order. He said efforts were being made to arrest the accused in the case, adding that an investigation report would be submitted to the court within the next 2-3 days.

In the statement of the case, the housewife alleged that on January 1, in absence of her husband, local Zia alias Jihad, Farooq, Enayet, Bhutto Majhi, and members of Farooq's forces entered the house and tried to rape her. After failing to rape, they tortured and stripped her naked and recorded video on their mobile phone.

When the victim and her children started shouting they fled. Later, her husband came and rescued her and admitted her to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital on Saturday. Later, on January 5 the victim filed a case at Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-2 of the district.

Earlier, a video of another housewife being stripped naked and tortured in Noakhali's Begumganj caused a stir across the country. Amid nationwide protests, the government revised the highest punishment for rapists to death amending the previous highest punishment life imprisonment.
