Car ploughs through footpath, 14 injured

At least 14 pedestrians, who had been waiting for vehicles at the bus stoppage, were injured as a car ploughed through a footpath in front of Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital on Sunday morning. Six of them were in critical condition. 

The accident took place at around 11:30 am. Among the injured, there are two women and a child. 

Confirming the information, Officer-in-charge of Cantonment Police Station Kazi Shahan Haque told Daily Bangladesh that the private car driver has been arrested. 

Of the injured, eight were taken to Kurmitola General Hospital while six others were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition. 

Earlier on July 29, 2018, two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School and College were killed as a bus of “Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan” rammed into a group of students who had been waiting for vehicles at the same place. The deceased are Abdul Karim Rajib and Dia Khanam Meem.
