Car accident kills 13 in central Mozambique
At least 13 people died and four were seriously injured in a car crash on Thursday morning in Beira, the capital city of Mozambique’s central province Sofala, reported the national radio station Radio Mocambique.
The radio said that the accident involved a minibus (locally known as Chapa) at the Beira-Muchungwe road and a truck that was going in the opposite direction.
According to a police spokesman speaking to the radio, speeding and bad weather were believed to be the cause of the accident.
The wounded passengers were taken to Beira Provincial Hospital.
