Cabinet endorses proposed national budget for FY 2021-22

The Cabinet approved the proposed national budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 (FY 22).
The approval came at a special meeting, presided by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, held at the cabinet room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Thursday.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Planning Minister MA Mannan, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Law Minister Anisul Haq, Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, among other cabinet ministers and state ministers concerned, attended the meeting.
The Finance Minister is set to place over Tk 6.03 lakh crore national budget for fiscal 2021-2022 (FY 22) in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) at 3:00pm on Thursday.
This will be the 3rd consecutive budget of incumbent Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal while country’s 50th budget and the 22nd of the Awami League government in five terms.
Tajuddin Ahmed presented the first budget as the finance minister of the post-independence Bangabandhu government in 1972.
