Chattogram University (CU) has decided to take all the examinations in person keeping the halls closed. On May 6, the University Grants Commission (UGC) decided that the internal examinations of the university can be taken online from now on.

On Tuesday (June 15), the academic council held a meeting in the conference room of the university's vice-chancellor over taking exams in person.

Confirming the matter, Professor SM Salamat Ulya Bhuiyan, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration of the University, said it has been decided to take in-person examination as there are many limitations to online exams. However, the classes will be taken online.

He said that in order to maintain health guidelines exam routine will be finalised following discussion with the dean of the faculty, the chairman of the department, and the examination controller. If all the departments take the exam in one day, the number of students will be higher. In this case, if six departments take exams on one day, the other six departments will take exams on another day.

However, when asked whether the residential hall would be opened, the university's registrar (acting) Professor SM Monirul Hasan said, "No decision has been taken to reopen the hall." "It has been decided to take all the tests physically. Each department will prepare for that. Since there are government guidelines regarding the provision of vaccines. Hopefully, the hall will be opened by providing vaccines."
