CSK batting coach Mike Hussey tests positive for Corona

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting consultant Mike Hussey has become the latest member in the IPL 2021 buble to tests positive for Covid-19.

Earlier, Chennai bowling coach Lakshnipati Balaji, service staff, and a team official have contracted the virus. Hussey is the first member of the overseas contingent to test positive in the 2021 IPL - his test came out positive on Tuesday, but the franchise conducted another test to confirm the results.

After the suspension of the 14th edition of IPL, the entire Chennai team gave samples for the Covid-19 test and Mike Hussey's report came up positive.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) plans to send Australian cricketers and coaches to their home via the Maldives. However, Mike Hussey is not able to return to the country right now due to being infected with corona.

The BCCI will arrange for alternative way for Hussey subject to his Corona test report come negative.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha and the Delhi Capitals' legspinner Amit Mishra also tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday. Following this, the BCCI decided to postpone the IPL.

The 60-match tournament started on April 9. So far, 29 matches have been completed. There are still 31 matches left in the tournament.
