COVID deaths again rising in Khulna

The number of deaths in Khulna is increasing again. In the last 24 hours, 18 people died of COVID – 14 died of Covid-19 and 4 died with symptoms – at five hospitals in Khulna from Sunday 8:30 am to Monday 8:30 pm.

Among the 18 deaths, 8 people died – 4 died of Covid-19 and four with symptoms – at Khulna Dedicated Corona Hospital, 3 died at the Corona unit of Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital, two died at the Corona unit of private City Medical College Hospital and 4 died at the Corona unit of Gazi Medical Hospital.

Earlier, 11 deaths were reported in Khulna on Sunday, 8 died on Saturday, and 7 died on Friday.

Dr. Suhas Ranjan Halder, a focal person of Khulna Dedicated Corona Hospital, said 8 people died in the hospital in the last 24 hours; 4 of them died with symptoms.

Dr. Prakash Debnath, a spokesperson at the Corona unit of Khulna’s Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital, said 3 people died in the span of 24 hours. 36 people were admitted to the Corona unit of the hospital. 10 of them are in ICU. “No patient” was admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours. Two returned homes after recovery, he added.

Dr. Kazi Abu Rashed, a spokesperson at the Corona unit of 80-bed Khulna General Hospital, said one patient died in the hospital in the last 24 hours. 33 patients – 17 were male and 16 were female – are undergoing treatment. 3 people were admitted in the last 24 hours and 4 returned home after recovery.

Two people died at the Corona unit of City Medical College Hospital in the last 24 hours. 69 people were admitted to the Corona unit of the 90-bed private hospital. 13 people were admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours and 11 returned home after recovery. 7 people are currently in ICU.

Dr. Gazi Mizanur Rahman, a proprietor of Gazi Medical Hospital, said four people died at the Corona unit of the hospital in the last 24 hours. Another 91 people were undergoing treatment in the hospital. 19 people were admitted in the last 24 hours and 8 returned home after recovery.
