COVID death toll rises to 7650 in country

As many as 24 people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 7650 in the country. Earlier, 27 deaths from the disease were registered yesterday.
Besides, 910 new cases were reported during the time. With this, the tally of infections has surged to 5,16,029 in the country. On the other hand, 835 peoplr were diagnosed with the virus yesterday.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the information in a press release issued on Monday (January 4, 2021).
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, 510,124 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 7,138 died from the pandemic in the last 24 hours. The United States has registered the highest number of deaths from the pandemic and infections during the period.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 218 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of this afternoon, a total of 85,560,474 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 1,852,086 while 60,531,158 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data.
