The ill-shadow of the fraudster does not seem to be moving from the country’s health service. Khulna Medical College Hospital has formed a strong syndicate of fraudsters. They are collecting huge amounts of money from common people in different ways in the advantage of the coronavirus outbreak.
The investigation has revealed that a person named Nowshad, a liftman of Khulna Medical College Hospital, had issued a negative certificate for coronavirus test. However, the actual culprits of this syndicate are completely out of reach. On July 12, Tania, a coronavirus-positive housewife at 26 BK Roy Cross Road was given a COVID-19 negative certificate by in Nowshad and associate.
In the negative report of that housewife, the sample ID number has been mentioned as KMC-2023 and the date of taking the sample has been mentioned as 7th July and the test date has been mentioned as 12th July. Besides, a person named Shamim Ahmed of West Baniakhamar in the city was given a positive report in the sample test at the Flu Corner of Khulna Medical College Hospital on July 8, but Nowshad showed the report negative a day earlier, i.e. on July 7, showing ID number KMC-19031.
Shamim Ahmed said on his mobile phone that Nowshad is his younger brother. He got a negative report through him. Asked if it was a fake report, he said, "I am in Chuknagar on business." I will go to Khulna to find out. The same thing happened with housewife Tania. She said she met Nowshad at the hospital. She received reports from him through her identity. She does not know whether the report is correct or fake.
Meanwhile, KMC Hospital Residential Medical Officer (RMO) and isolation unit spokesman Dr. Mizanur Rahman said that both KMC-19031 and KMC-2023 sample ID numbers are fake. There are no reports on this number. He demanded exemplary punishment for the vicious cycle.
With Reza Secundar, Director, Khulna Medical College Hospital. Asked how a liftman working at the hospital was issuing fake certificates, he said, "I don't know." However, if the investigation finds the truth, I will definitely hand over this cycle to the police.
Sheikh Ashraf-uz-Zaman, secretary-general of the Greater Khulna Development Coordinating Committee, said the cycle should be brought under the law soon. Strict action should be taken against those who trade in the basic rights of ordinary people.
But Nowshad has denied such allegations against him when the connected him over the phone
