COVID-19 deaths cross 7500 marks in country, cases rise

Thirty more people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 7509 in the country. Yesterday, 27 died from the disease.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 511,261 as 1181 new cases were confirmed during the period. Yesterday, 932 Covid-19 cases were reported.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the information in a press release issued on Tuesday (December 29, 2020).

Meanwhile, 12,167 samples were diagnosed with the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, of these – 932 people diagnosed with the virus. 

The recovery count rose to 454,563 after another 1245 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period, the release added.

The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
