COVID-19 cases in India cross 7 million

The number of people infected with coronavirus in India has crossed 7 million. The country is on the verge of surpassing the United States, the world’s most affected country, as infections continue to rise.

According to the Indian Ministry of Health, another 74,535 people have been infected with coronavirus in the last 24 hours. As a result, the total number of people infected has raised to over 7.7 million.

The ministry also reported 918 additional deaths, taking total fatalities to 108,334.

The United States, which tops the list of countries most affected by COVID-19, has so far recorded a total of 7,949,351 positive cases. 219,300 have died so far in the country.

Meanwhile, Brazil is in third place in the list having 5,091,840 active cases. The country registered 150,236 total deaths.
