The CNG filling stations will be closed for 4 hours every day, starting from today (Sunday, September 19), from 6 pm to 10 pm to maintain gas supply to the power plants.
Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin, Deputy Chief Information Officer of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, told the media on Wednesday night.
Earlier, the ministry had decided to keep CNG filling stations closed for six hours everyday to maintain gas supply to the power plants.
At that time, it was informed that the decision has been taken to ensure an “uninterrupted power supply” during peak hours as per the demand of gas-based power plants.
Opposing the decision, the CNG Filling Station Owners Association later proposed to close the CNG stations for three hours daily instead of six hours.
In view of this proposal, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources took a final decision to close the CNG stations for four hours.
