CAAB extends flights suspension for another week

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has extended the ongoing suspension of international flights to and from Bangladesh for another week due to the extension of strict lockdown in the country from April 21-April 28.

This information has been given in a notification signed by Flight Standards and Operations Member Group Captain Chowdhury M Zia ul Kabir of CAAB on Monday.

"As per the guidelines and instructions of the government, the ban on international flights to and from Bangladesh has been extended till April 28," the statement said.

Meanwhile, a separate notification said that the domestic flights will remain suspended till April 28.

However, special flights to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, UAE, and Singapore will continue so that several thousand expatriate workers who have remained stuck in the country since April 14 can return to their workplaces in those five countries.

Earlier, CAAB, on April 11, suspended operation of all international passenger flights to and from Bangladesh for a week from April 14 following government guidance and instruction.
