Businessman killed in Dakshin Khan shootout

A businessman has been shot dead in a shootout between two sides over a business dispute in the capital’s Dakshin Khan area.

Meanwhile, the police have recovered the body of the businessman.

The incident took place at Ainushbagh Chadnagar in the area at 10:30 am on Tuesday. 

The deceased was identified as businessman Abdur Rashid.

“Police in the spot are trying to find out who was involved in the incident,” said Dakshin Khan Police Station duty officer Nurul Islam. 

Meanwhile, locals said that businessman Abdur Rashid was having a dispute with influential Aminul Islam Hannan over the sand business. Abdur Rashid has been shot dead over that dispute.

Dakshin Khan police OC Sikdar Md. Shamim said the shootout took place between the two sides at 10:30 am. Businessman Abdur Rashid was shot dead in the incident. His body was later taken to the local KC Hospital.

He added that he heard that a man named Hannan, a Japanese man, was involved in the killings.
