Bus carrying 29 passengers plunges into canal, 5 rescued

A bus carrying 29 passengers has plunged into a canal as driver lost control in Sunamganj. Five of them have been rescued.

Sunamganj Sadar Police Station SI Jalal Uddin said that the Sunamganj-bound bus lost control in the Janigaon area of Sunamganj Sadar Upazila and plunged into a canal beside the road around 10:30 am. 

After being informed about the accident, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) rushed to the spot with the Fire Service while the rescue work is underway.

He added that fortunately a passenger named Jahangir was able to get out of the bus.
