At least four people were killed in a bomb blast near the Afghan capital, Kabul. At least four more people were wounded in the incident.
The explosion took place shortly afternoon in front of a minibus in Kabul on Thursday, AFP reported.
“The attack took place in an area southwest of the capital, Kabul,” AFP said, citing the Afghan police spokesman Ferdous Faramarz. “The area is mostly inhabited by Shias.”
According to AFP, it is the third attack in the last two days in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
Such attacks were expected to increase in the coming months as the United States announced to withdraw troops from the country. Work is underway to completely remove all foreign troops, including US troops, from Afghanistan by September 11.
No group or extremist group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Earlier this week, at least 10 people were killed in two consecutive bus attacks in Kabul.
