Four killed in clash in Khagrachari Matiranga

Five bodies who were killed in a clash between members of BGB and villagers in Khagrachari’s Matiranga have been handed over to the families. Of these, four bodies were buried after Namaz e Janaja on Wednesday morning.

Deceased BGB member Md. Shawn Khan’s body was sent to South Basanda village of Betagi upazila of Barguna on Tuesday night. The bodies of the rest reached Gazinagar in Matiranga at around 8 am on Wednesday. After the funeral, Md Mofiz Mia was buried at Battali graveyard, Sahab Mia, Akbar Ali and Ahmed Ali were buried at 10 No. Islampur Cemetery.

Matiranga Police Station OC Shamsuddin Bhuiyan handed over those bodies. Matiranga UNO Biswas Kanti Das was present at the meeting, Senior ASP of Matiranga Circle Md. Khorshed Alam, Upazila Awami League President Humayun Morshed Khan, and Municipal Panel Mayor Md. Alauddin Liton were also present.

A clash between BGB and the villagers took place on cutting a tree at Sahab Mia's garden in Gazinagar on Tuesday afternoon. BGB member Shawn Khan, gardener Sahab Mia, Md. Akbar Ali, Ahmed Ali, Mofiz Mia, and Md. Hanif Mia were killed in the discord.
