‘Bulbul’ intensifies as cyclone

'Bulbul' has taken the form of a cyclone from a deep depression. As a result, light to moderate rainfall has been drizzling in Patuakhali and adjoining areas since Thursday.

Meanwhile, the district administration has called for an emergency meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee to deal with the impact of the cyclone 'bulbul' and to make all preparations on Friday.

Deputy Commissioner Nejrat Deputy Collector and Executive Magistrate Mahbubul Alam confirmed the information on Thursday night.

Executive Magistrate Mahbubul Alam said that an emergency meeting will be held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference on Friday morning to tackle the cyclone 'Bulbul'. District Disaster Management Committee will be present under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Motiul Islam Chowdhury.

It is learned that the decision will be taken after implementing high-level directives of the government and discussing various issues in the meeting to tackle disaster and create public awareness locally, and the district administration will work to implement them on the ground level. In addition, the administration has ordered the fishing boats and trawlers to be anchored onshore.

According to a meteorological statement, the cyclone 'Bulbul' in the Bay of Bengal is getting stronger. The impact of this can be caused by wind/storm winds in the seaports and coastal areas of the country. Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to show local warning number 3.
