Bulbul hits Kolkata, Kills 1

Cyclone Bulbul is going to hit the land in Sundarbans and its surrounding areas with a huge speed of maximum 135 kilometers per hour.

According to the Indian Meteorological Office, the cyclone could hit between 8pm and 10pm this night. However, the speed of the storm may be reduced to 120 km per hour.

The cyclone is currently 80 km away from the Sagardip in Kolkata. Continuous rainfall with medium to heavy winds has been blowing in the districts of West Bengal including Kolkata since morning.

Ferries services in the south of the state including Babughat in Kolkata including schools and colleges are closed. Fishermen have been banned from fishing in the sea.

Meanwhile, one has been reported died in the state after falling trees in Ballyganj, South Kolkata. The victim's name is Sohel Sheikh.

It is reported that Bihar resident Sohel Sheikh used to cook at a club in Ballyganj. He was going to the club from his residence in Tangara's at noon. The incident took place while entering the club. A tree fell on his head. He died on the spot.

It has also decided to shut down services at Kolkata Netaji Subhash Chandra International Airport to avoid the damage of the cyclone. The ban will remain in effect from 6pm on Saturday to 6 am on Sunday.
