Brazil has the second position in terms of coronavirus death and infection globally after the United States and is at the top in Latin America, however, six months after the first coronavirus patient was identified in the country, the death toll has surpassed 1 lakh-mark.
According to the Ministry of Health of the country Brazil witnesses 841 deaths in the last 24 hours. The death toll rose to 100,543. Besides, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has raised to 3,013,369 with more than 46,000 new infections in the last 24 hours.
Coronavirus infection started much later in Brazil than in many other countries as the first coronavirus patient was identified there on 26 February. But since then the number of victims has been increasing rapidly. Many have blamed President Jair Bolsonaro's whimsy for the rapid rise in infections. Because Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro has always opposed lockdowns and strict sanctions under coronavirus control. He instructed everyone to join the work to keep the economy moving. Despite widespread criticism at home and abroad, the leader did not back down.
Earlier this month, however, the Brazilian President was also infected with coronavirus on July 6. He has recently recovered from the virus.
