Brazil sees record daily death toll

The number of coronavirus cases and deaths is increasing day by day in the South American country Brazil. The country is breaking the record of daily casualties almost every day.

According to Brazil Ministry of Health, another 1,262 people have died in the last 24 hours in the country. With this, the deaths tally in the country rise to 31,307. The number of cases has also increased.

In the last 24 hours, 28,936 people have been infected with the virus, taking the country's tally to 5,58,237.

Meanwhile, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has always opposed lockdowns and strict sanctions to control coronavirus. He instructed everyone to join the work to keep the economy moving. Despite widespread criticism at home and abroad, the leader did not back down.

Health experts say the number of people infected with the virus in Brazil could be at least 15 times higher than the official estimate. If their fears come true, the number of coronavirus cases in the country will be at least three times higher than in the United States.
