Boro cultivation exceeds target in C’nawabganj

With the production target of about two lakh metric tonnes of boro rice has been cultivated on 50,785 hectares of land in the district this year.

According to the district office of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), the target was fixed to cultivate boro on 49,360 hectares of land in the district.

The cultivation crossed the target and a total of 50,785 hectares of land in which 11,850 hectares in sadar upazila, 7,900 hectares in Shibganj upazila, 15,475 hectares in Gomostapur upazila, 9,850 hectares in Nachole upazila and 5,710 hectares in Bholahat upazila was cultivated for boro.

There is no irrigation or fertilizer crisis in the district, the sources added.
