A small step can change a lot. The private television channel Boishakhi TV has taken a different step. The channel is floating in praise of the decision taken by them.

On March 8, International Women's Day, a transgender news anchor will be seen presenting news on the channel. For the first time in 50 years of independence, the television authorities appointed the anchor named Tasnuva Annan Shishir.

Not only this but also another transgender named Nusrat Mou has got the opportunity to act in the Boishakhi TV drama. She will be seen in a play titled ‘Chapabaj’ which will be aired at 9:20 pm on March 8, International Women’s Day.

Shishir and Mou are floating in praise after such news came out on Friday (March 5). At the same time, people are also giving a positive vibe to Boishakhi TV’s such an excellent initiative.

The news of Shishir being a news anchor and Mou being an actress has been at the top of the discussion on Facebook since yesterday.

Tipu Alam Milon, Deputy Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Boishakhi TV said, “People of the third gender are also a part of our society. Their talent is also our asset. We will be benefitted if we can use them properly. We have taken the initiative with that in mind.”

“I went to work on a drama on that channel. Seeing my accent presentation there, the television authorities asked me to audition. I was later selected as a news anchor,” Tasnuva Annan Shishir told the media, thanking the Boishakhi TV for such an initiative.

Nusrat Mou, who has been deprived of life for the rest of her life, is now an actress of a play. She is also overflowing with emotion and expressed her gratitude to Boishakhi TV.
