Divers are conducting the rescue operation

The body of a female student of Notre Dame University in Dhaka, who along with another classmate went missing in Meghna River at Char Sonarampur, was recovered from rail bridge area in Ashuganj upazila in Brahmanbaria on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sanzida Binte Tanvir, 21, a student of Computer Science and Engineering department of Notre Dame University.  

Mousumi Bin Hira, UNO of Ashuganj Upazila, said that seven students of the Notre Dame College in the capital came to Bhairab in Kishoreganj district in the afternoon. They rented a boat from Bhairab and went to Char Sonarampur in Ashuganj. They were taking bath in the river. At one stage, Sanjida drowned in the water. Her friend Israq alias Mehrab, 22, also drowned trying to rescue Sanjida.

After getting the information, divers of local fire service station in association with the members of Bangladesh Navy rushed in and started the rescue operation.

Later on Sunday morning, the body of Sanzida was found floating in the river around 11:00 am. However, the search operation is continuing to rescue Sanzida's friend Mehrab.
