Biswa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of the world’s Muslims, will be beginning from January 12 on the bank of the river Turag in Tongi, on the outskirt of the capital Dhaka. Almost 50 percents of preparation already has been completed.

Biswa Ijtema has been hold of the two phases this year. The first phase of the Biswa Ijtema will begin after Friday prayers on January 12, which will end on January 14 through the Akheri Munajat.

On January 19, the second phase of the Biswa Ijtema will begin and conclude on January 21 through Akheri Munajat.

Participants of the Biswa Ijtema from 64 districts have been divided into four groups since 2016. After one year everyone will be able to participate in Biswa Ijtema. That means people of 32 districts can participate in Ijtema every year. And the participants of 32 districts also divided into two phases.

The 32 districts that participated in the 2nd phase of the year are- Dhaka, Sherpur, Narayanganj, Nilphamari, Sirajganj, Natore, Gaibandha, Laxmipur, Sylhet, Chittagong, Narail, Madaripur, Bhola, Magura, Patuakhali, Jhalokati, Panchagarh, Jhenaidah, Jamalpur, Faridpur, Netrokona, Narsingdi, Comilla, Kurigram, Rajshahi, Feni, Thakurgaon, Sunamganj, Bogra, Khulna, Chuadanga and Pirojpur.
