Bishwa Ijtema date announced

With the amid disputed between two groups — Deoband wing Maulana Zubayer and Maulana Mohammad Saad Kandhalvi of Delhi Markaj — the date of Bishwa Ijtema has announced. The two groups have agreed to hold the Bishwa Ijtema separately on January 10-12 and January 17-19.  

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal held a meeting with the two groups of the Tabligh Jamaat on Monday to discuss the issue of organizing the 2020 Bishwa Ijtema. During this, Syed Wasif Islam led the Saad followers and Maulana Zubair, led the opposition of Saad followers. 

Apart from the Home Minister, State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah, State Minister of Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, Cabinet Secretary Anwar Hossain, Ministry of Religious Affairs secretary Anisur Rahman, Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) Mohammad Jabed Patwari, and the representatives from two groups Tabligh Jamaat were present.

It is learned that the two sides have been allowed to held Bishwa Ijtema separately to keep the law and order situation normal. Saad oppositon will hold the Ijtema at Tongi ground on January 10,11,12 and the Maulana Saad followers will hold the Ijtema next week January 17,18,19. 

In the meeting, it is also decided that Cental Amir of Tabligh Jamaat Maulana Saad Kandhalvi will not take part. In addition, the two groups will separately stay for 5 days before Ijtema, however, it must be done in Tongi ground.
