Biman Bangladesh Airlines is going to relaunch its flight operations If the severity of the coronavirus situation becomes normalized by November. The routes are Toronto, Tokyo, Guangzhou, and Chennai.
Preparations have already been made to launch flights on the remaining three routes except for Toronto. Mokabbir Hossain Managing Director (MD) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines confirmed this information to the media.
He said, "We will start flights to these 4 routes as soon as the commercial operation starts."
Aviation sector analyst Wahidul Alam said many foreign airlines are operating from here. So we will not get passengers if there is no facility for fare fixing and transit passengers.
He also suggested that in order to survive in competition with foreign airlines, it would be better to enter into agreements with domestic airlines.
Although there have been initiatives to travel on several new routes this year, it has lagged behind in Corona. Due to the non-imposition of sanctions by different countries, Biman is currently operating regular flights on only four of the 17 routes. In this situation, the number of passengers has decreased by seven lakh in the financial year 2019-20 as compared to the financial year 2018-19.
