Biman Bangladesh Airlines has finally received approval to operate eight commercial flights to three cities in Saudi Arabia from October 1 after a long hiatus due to the coronavirus epidemic.

Biman's managing director and chief executive officer Mokabbir Hossain has confirmed this information on Monday night.

Mokabbir Hossain said Saudi Arabia has decided to operate Biman's commercial flights from October 1, 2020. Landing permission is required before seat allocation can begin. But landing permission is not obtained. As a result, it is not possible to announce the flight schedule now to start allocating seats for the honorable passengers. The flight will be announced upon receipt of landing permission and all concerned including the honored passengers will be informed. Passengers are kindly requested not to crowd unnecessarily at the counter before the flight is announced.

Earlier last week, Saudi Arabian authorities announced the conditional operation of commercial flights to the country. According to that announcement, the aircraft took the initiative to operate their flight. But the plane could not start the flight as it did not get permission from the Saudi authorities to operate the flight.
