Bilbao to face Barca in Super Cup final after knocking out Real Madrid

Athletic Bilbao pulled off a 2-1 victory against Real Madrid in Malaga on Thursday to confirm the Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona.

Bilbao forward Raul Garcia scored twice while Karim Benzema managed to score a goal for Real Madrid later on.

Garcia scored twice in the first half, the second a penalty, and while Benzema pulled one back for the defending champions, Bilbao held on to complete a statement win under their new coach Marcelino Garcia Toral.

Athletic will meet Barca as the Catalans beat Real Sociedad in a penalty shootout on Wednesday.

Bilbao were beaten 3-2 by Barca in La Liga only last week, with Lionel Messi scoring twice at San Mames.

The final will take place on Sunday in Seville.
