The Bangladesh Navy ship BNS Bijoy, which was damaged in the Beirut blast, has returned to the Chattogram naval base.
After a long two months and 20 days, BNS Bijoy reached the naval base on Sunday morning after crossing 6,000 nautical miles.
An explosion at the Lebanese port of Beirut on 4 August damaged the UN-deployed BNS Bijoy, resulting in the injury of 21 sailors on board at that time.
After the incident, the BNS Shongram of the Navy left Bangladesh for Lebanon on 9 August. When the ship reached there, BNS Bijoy left the Beirut port for Bangladesh by handling its responsibilities. On the way back, the parts damaged in the blast were repaired in Turkey.
