Advocate Abul Baten President and Khandaker Md. Hazrat Ali has been elected president and general secretary in the Dhaka Bar Association’s 2021-22 executive council election
Advocate Abul Baten and Khandaker Md. Hazrat Ali has been elected president and general secretary in the Dhaka Bar Association’s 2021-22 executive council election.
Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Abdullah Abu announced the results on Saturday.
In this election, Awami League-backed White Panel has won 15 posts including president and BNP-backed Blue Panel has won 8 posts including the general secretary.
Earlier, the polling was held on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Dhaka Bar Association building. Out of a total of 17756 voters, 8006 cast their votes in this election.
The other winners from the White Panel are – AKM Ariful Islam Kawshar as Treasurer, AKM Salahuddin as Senior Assistant General Secretary, Sharmin Sultana Happy as Library Secretary, Saila Parvin Piya as Cultural Secretary, Zakir Hossain Lincoln as Office Secretary, Md. Rafiqul Islam as Sports Secretary and AS Imrul Kayes as Social Welfare Secretary.
Besides, Sultana Razia Ruma, ABM Faisal Sarwar, Imtiaz Ahmed Prince, Golam Emon Hossain, Jewel Chandra Madak, Md. Ahsan Habib, Md. Mohid Uddin Mohin won the election from the White Panel.
Meanwhile, the winners of the other positions on the Blue Panel are – Kamal Uddin as Senior Vice-President and Md. Anisur Rahman Anis as Vice-President.
MRK Russell, Md. Hosni Mubarak, Babul Akhter Babu, Md. Sohug Hasan Rony and Mosa. Taslima Akhter won from the Blue Panel.
