Barrister Rafique-ul Haque passes away

Former Attorney General and senior Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Rafique-ul Haque has passed away (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un).
He breathed his last at the Ad-Din Hospital in the capital’s Maghbazar at 8:30 am on Saturday, confirmed the authorities at Ad-Din Hospital.
Earlier on the evening of October 16, Barrister Rafique-ul Haque was admitted to Ad-Din Hospital in Moghbazar due to various old age complications including anemia and urinary incontinence.
Later October 17, when he recovered a bit, he was released in the morning and returned home, however, his condition again deteriorated in the afternoon, as a result, he was admitted to the hospital that day.
Barrister Rafique-ul Haque was taken to the intensive care unit (ICU) at the hospital last June as his diabetics levels declined. He then stayed at his Paltan’s residence and recovered with treatment.
Born on November 2, 1935, at Subarnapur village in Kolkata, Barrister Rafique-ul Haque was the Attorney General of Bangladesh from April 7, 1990, to December 17 of the same year. He was the sixth chief legal officer of the state.
