Barishal division sees 18 more Covid-19 fatalities

As many as 18 new Covid deaths have been reported in the Barishal division in the past 24 hours till Tuesday morning. Of the fatalities, seven had tested positive for Covid-19 while the remaining 11 showed symptoms of the virus infection.
According to the health officials, fourteen of the deceased died at Sher-E-Bangla Medical College and Hospital (SBMCH) alone.
Confirming the information, Divisional Health Director Dr Basudev Kumar Das said that a total of 494 patients have died of Covid-19 in the division so far.
Earlier on Monday, the division logged the highest Covid fatality figure at 31.
Besides, 740 people have tested positive for Covid in Barishal division in the past 24 hours. Of the fresh Covid cases, 245 have been identified in the Barishal district alone.
SBMCH sources said that 55 more patients have been admitted to the hospital in 24 hours till Tuesday morning. Moreover, 123 Covid patients are currently undergoing treatment at the corona unit of SBMCH and 204 in the isolation ward of the hospital.
