Renowned composer, lyricist, flutist and musician Bari Siddiqui’s third death anniversary has been observed today. He died on this day in 2017.

Born on 15 November 1954 in a musician family in Netrokona district, he introduced to music since childhood. He started his formal training under Netrokona artist Ustad Gopal Dutt only at 12 years old

He came in direct contact with Ustad Aminur Rahman, Dabir Khan, Pannalal Ghosh and many other talented artists. Bari Siddiqui also studied classical music.

Although he has been involved in music for a long time, Bari Siddiqui became popular as an artist in 1999 through Humayun Ahmed’s movie ‘Sharbon Megher Din’ – where he sang six songs and came into the discussion overnight.

His popular songs include ‘Shuachan Pakhi Ami Dakitachi Tumi Ghumaicho Naki’, ‘Pubali Batase’, ‘Amar Gaye Joto Dukkho Soy’, ‘Olo Bhavijan Now Baowa’, ‘Manush Dhoro Manush Vojo’ and many others. He then did playback in the film. An audio album has been released with his songs.
